Corowa (Design/Construct) Project for RTA, NSW
The Corowa project was a $21.5M design and construct project for a new crossing of the Murray River at Corowa/Wahgunyah. This project was successfully managed by PES for a consultancy fee of $1.1M (5.1%).
Broad statistics for the Corowa project were:
- A new, 2 lane, 195 metre long Incrementally launched bridge over the Murray River;
- A new, 2 lane, 95 metre long approach bridge over the floodplain in NSW;
- 4.8km of new road from Honour Avenue at Corowa to the Wahgunyah-Rutherglen road.
- A new roundabout at Honour Avenue, and improved cycle and pedestrian access.
- Flood relief culverts on the NSW side of the river and improved drainage on the Victorian side.
- Upgraded intersections in Victoria at the Rutherglen to Wahgunyah Road, the All Saints Winery access, O’Keefes Road and Barkly Road.
- An innovative urban design and landscape design concept to reflect the character of the area.
- Upgraded boat launch access near the Rivergum Caravan Park.
Robinvale (Design/Construct) Project for RTA, NSW
The Robinvale project was a $51 M (contract only) design and construct project for a new crossing of the Murray River at Robinvale/Euston. This project required both document preparation and subsequent contract management, both undertaken by PES. It was successfully managed by PES for a consultancy fee of $1.27M (2.8%).
Broad statistics for the Robinvale project were:
- New 671 metre Main Bridge over the Murray River and part of the flood plain. This bridge incorporates a separate pathway for pedestrians and cyclists.
- New 300 metre approach road and embankment in Robinvale, linking to the Murray Valley Highway with intersection connections to Moore Street and River Road.
- New 151 metre super T Approach Bridge No 1 over part of the flood plain.
- New 181 metre super T Approach Bridge No 2 over part of the flood plain.
- New approach roads in NSW connecting to the Murray Valley Highway near the Sturt Highway.
- Landscaping along the roadway corridor.
