The rebuild of the weir included widening the weir to increase its capacity to accommodate major flood waters and heavy rain.

The innovative design of the labyrinth weir features a saw-cut profile which enables more water to pass downstream whilst minimizing upstream water levels.

At the same time two new wetlands were created downstream to improve the quality of waterways into surrounding lakes and rivers and to maximize recreational use of the pond.

 

PES Involvement:

The provision of Principals Authorized Person (PAP), Contract Administrators including Project Director and Technical Specialists. A Senior Resident Engineer, and a Surveillance Officer for Civil & Structural works.
